Welcome to our first street photography workshop in association with The Garden Book Store.

We begin our workshop with an in depth look at how to operate your camera in fast conditions. focusing on the environments we explore, composition and light and the way in which we shoot our subjects. We will look at how to edit and create the mood in an image and spend the final hour of our session walking in a nearby apartment complex for inspiration.

Our first shoot
We meet at the book store and go over the previous session in some minor details to see what we learned..
Once we are all confident in what we’ve seen, We will choose a subject and head out onto the streets.
Attendee’s will work in pairs to capture the themes set for them and be asked to collect an object from the surrounding area that looks lost or abandoned.
once we return, we will take a short break whilst collecting the images and get each photography team to talk about their favourite shots to the group as well as their object.

Editing and story telling
Our 3rd session will be again, mixed into 2 parts.
Part 1 will be an extension of the session before to take one last adventure to test what you have learned and see if there’s something you missed.
Part 2 will be a meeting back at the book store where will look at how to create an exhibition and talk the things that we’ve captured

Preparing for the exhibition
Our final session will be to prepare properly for our exhibition and get the teams to work together through a list of prompts which include, taking a professional shot of their object under studio lights, picking and editing their final pictures before finalising our content into a well packaged and “ready to exhibit” format.
All teams will be given certificates as a way of recognition to the point of understanding and completing their street photography workshop
Our Final meeting will be the exhibition itself where we will invite our family and friends to attend a one of a kind exhibition to be hosted at the venue.
Our aim is to raise money for a charity in Shanghai through the sales of our work. All photographers will be honoured and presented to talk about their work and the inspiration behind their art.
